As a link in the oil supply chain, Trapil is committed to reducing the environmental footprint of its operations.
An Environmentally-Friendly Method

Trapil transported more than 35 million metric tons of fuel in 2003 - more than 93,000 metric tons a day.
Without pipelines, roads and highways would be clogged with thousands of tanker trucks to carry this amount of products .
Pipelines are quiet, invisible and do not pollute the environment. They are the most environmentally-friendly method of transporting petroleum products, as well as the safest and least expensive.
Environmental Stewardship
A comprehensive survey is conducted before a pipeline is built, covering the environment, existing infrastructure and human activity.
A technical package and a safety survey are submitted Regional Directorate of Industry, Research and the Environment (DRIRE).
Trapil also provides a public interest survey package that includes an impact assessment and water pollution study.
The final pipeline route is selected after the relevant authorities and organizations have approved the project.

A monitoring and intervention plan (PSI) covers the steps to be taken in the event of an accident. |

Pipelines are buried. They do not adversely impact the landscape or neighboring crops. When laying a pipeline, Trapil also restores the ground.
Soil taken away during digging of the trench is put back, allowing plants to grow normally.
