If you are planning to carry out work in a district through which crossed by one of our pipelines runs, you must follow the procedures detailed below. Contact the municipal authorities to determine whether there is a pipeline in the area, by consulting the zoning plan that indicates all points located within 100 meters of the structure. If your work is located near a pipeline, contact the Trapil unit that monitors the pipeline and submit a "Request for information concerning existing underground, aboveground or underwater structures" (Demande de Renseignements sur l'existence et l'implantation d'ouvrages souterrains, aériens ou subaquatiques) using a CERFA No. 90-0188 form.
The pipeline operator will then inform you if the planned work could pose a risk for the line.
If so, an "Acknowledgement of request for information" (Récépissé de votre demande de renseignements) will be sent to you providing you with useful information.
You then have six months in which to send the pipeline operator a "Declaration of intent to begin work" (Récépissé de Déclaration d'Intention de Commencement de Travaux) CERFA No. 90-0189 form. The form should reach the operator at least ten days (excluding statutory holidays and Sundays) before you start work. Your works can start after you receive an "Acknowledgement of declaration of intent to begin work" (Récépissé de déclaration d'intention de commencement de travaux) . You must first mark out the area covered by the work, in the presence of a Trapil representative.
During your work, you must carefully comply with the instructions and safety procedures provided by our representatives.
